Driver Education is a 16-hour course. Ten hours are classroom instruction hours, and six hours are behind-the-wheel driving. Our classroom instruction is typically completed in two to three sessions.
The behind-the-wheel instruction is conducted on a one-on-one basis, with an instructor and one student. The drive times will begin and end at the Greater Tulsa Driving School.
Students perform three 2-hour drives to complete the 6 hours.
Students may take Driver Education and get their permit at 15 years old.
The course content includes a review of the Oklahoma Driving Manual, Defensive Driving Techniques, Attitude Behind the Wheel, Zero Tolerance for Drinking and Driving, the IPDE process of driving, as well as current video presentations, and sometimes a guest speaker.
Total cost of the course – $400 (Cash, check, Venmo, or credit card. A convenience fee of 3% will be added to all credit card transactions.) Upon completion, students do receive two certificates: Driver Education and MVAPC for Defensive Driving
Private Lessons are behind-the-wheel instruction. These lessons are scheduled on an individual basis. Fee: $50 per hour, and you drive our vehicle.
